The Introduction to Home Defense Course is a 3.5 hour course. This course will introduce students to various scenarios and how to utilize best practices to defend their home and family during forcible felony encounters such as kidnapping, home invasion, abduction. The course will cover topics including: legal aspects and laws regarding home protection, gun safety, firearm choice for home defense, firearm location and safe storage in the home, use of force, self-defense, situational awareness, how to increase the safety in and around your home, room hardening, family emergency plans, room clearing techniques such as threshold evaluation or slicing the pie, how to effectively escape from chokehold, wrist releases. The course consists primarily of classroom lecture, with live fire session and basic pistol shooting techniques.
